ADULT CULINARY / BAKED FOODS DEPARTMENT

All entries should be made from “scratch” – assembled from recipes of basic ingredients. Entries cannot be made of or contain prepared mixes (cake, muffins, and breads) or purchased pie crust. CRUST MUST BE HOMEMADE.

Breads, cookies, and candy should be displayed on a paper plate and sealed inside a re-closeable bag. Cakes should be entered on sturdy cardboard covered in foil or in disposable pans. Cover cakes with plastic wrap. Half of a cake is acceptable as an entry.

Pies may be placed in a zip lock bag. Items that need refrigeration will not be accepted.

Machine bread will not be accepted.

Exhibitors are limited to one entry per category.

Following judging all baked goods, except decorated cakes and sweepstake winners, will be discarded. Ribbons and entry tags will be available for pick up on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Winning entries will be posted in the baked foods area.

ADULT SPECIAL CULINARY AWARDS

"RICELAND FOODS, INC., Stuttgart, AR and Jonesboro, AR will present special awards to the Best of Show winners of the following: Best Cookie, Best Cake, Best Pie, and Best Bread."

"Best Pie Award" in memory of Ann Maynard will be presented to the "Best of Show" winner by the Ann Maynard family.

WILTON ENTERPRISES will award one "Best of Class" award for the Adult Division. Wilton "Best of Class" awards are offered for winning cakes and cupcakes.

 

"Best of Class" winners will receive the following prizes:

Cake and Icing Smoother.

Wilton will also award one Wilton Icing Smoother for each 1st prize winner in all categories.

Please note: Exhibitors may decorate an actual cake or a synthetic form for the competition.

 

ARCHWAY AMUSEMENTS / 2016 Northeast Arkansas District Fair Carnival will present a special award for decorated cakes using a Fair Theme. One Adult Award of $15 ; One Youth Award of $15.
