GENERAL RULES

NOTE:   Show time:

Open Dairy Goat must be In place by 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017.

Open judging will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday September 19, 2017 In Barn # 1.  Show order will be announced.

Open Dairy Goats will be released at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017

 Junior Dairy Goats must be in place by 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

Junior Judging will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 In Barn #1. Show order will be announced.

Junior Dairy Goats will be released at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017.

   

1.   All goat pre-entries will be due by Friday, September 1, 2017.  Entries will be submitted online at www.neadistrictfair.com beginning August 14, 2017

2.   OPEN Dairy Goat entries must be in place by 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017.  

 JUNIOR Dairy Goats must be in place by 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

3.   When filling out the entry forms, the animal’s age should correspond to the age it will be at the time of the show.

4.   Exhibitors will be limited to two entries per class.

5.   To constitute a Breed Show, there must be a minimum of five (5) animals and two (2) exhibitors.  If five animals are

  not represented, these animals will be shown as All Other Breeds.

6.   General Rules set down by the Fair Board will apply to the Goat Show.

7.   All ADGA recognized breeds are eligible to be shown.  All entries must have registration papers or verification from the ADGA and must have a proper tattoo.

 Only registered animals are eligible (includes recorded grade). 

8.   Animals should be clipped at home – NOT at the fairgrounds.

9.   All stalls should be marked with name of dairy or owners’ name and address.

10. All breeds and recorded grades shall be shown separately.

11. Fair personnel, veterinarians, or state and federal personnel may examine goats at any time.  Goats showing

  evidence of abscess and certainly draining abscesses will not be allowed to show and may be released by fair officials,

   veterinarians, or state-federal personnel.  Goats showing evidence of any other disease may be released.

12. Federal Law requires ALL Breeding Goats over 18 months of age and sexually intact goats for exhibition, to have

  an official USDA tag or official tattoo PRIOR to movement.

13. The OPEN Dairy Goat judging will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday,  September 19, 2017.

       The Open Grade division show will follow immediately after the Open Dairy Goat judging.      

 The JUNIOR Dairy Goat judging will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2017.

14. Dairy Goats will be shown in the Show Ring in Barn #1.

15. Late arrivals by permission ONLY.

16. Junior exhibitors may show in both open and junior shows, but must show a different animal in each show.

17. ALL PRIZE CHECKS WILL BE VOIDED AFTER 90 DAYS.       

18. The Fair Association is not liable for loss, damage, or injury to any exhibit or animal during the show.

19. No bucks may be entered or shown. 

20. Nursing kids may be penned with their dams.

21. Commercial animals will be shown in the grade division show. This division is for non-registered and cross-breed dairy goats.   

22. Junior Dairy Goat show senior showmanship entries are encouraged to wear whites.
